The RIVA Recruitment team were fortunate to help organise and attend AFA’s Gen Next second Melbourne event of 2022. This event was a panel discussion focussing on ‘What female clients are seeking in a financial adviser’. The event was sponsored by Netwealth, a leading Australian financial technology company.
Our event was hosted by Danni Visser, Head of Growth at XY Adviser, with panellists including leading Australian financial advisers, Joe Stephan, Director at Stephan Independent Advisory, Mariana Subasic, Senior Adviser at Tribeca Financial, and Natallia Smith, Director at TruWealth Advice. Some of the key learnings from the event on how to provide exceptional financial advice to female clients included:
- Empowering the non-dominant partner in the financial advice discussion. Advisers find this is typically the female in the relationship
- Creating a comfortable open environment for women to share their thoughts and feelings
- Focus on the meaning of the advice, rather than the numbers
- Focus on body language to direct the conversation.
